Photography Afriel: what I'm reading

Hey friends! In hitting my 2011 goals hard early on, I've finished my first book (and 1/2way through two others). I thought I'd take a second to talk about Crazy Love, by Francis Chan. First off, and I hope the author reads this, I thoroughly enjoyed chapter 9 (there were 10 chapters total). Chapter nine painted pictures of people from all walks of life who felt a calling to live servant lives for the Lord. Their stories were truly remarkable, and inspiring, and (at times) unbelievable.

Chapters 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8, and 10, however, were rough. Rough in the way that a sharpening stone is rough. It pointed out a lot of ways I could live a life more closely to what God wants for me, and convicted me on a couple of areas of my life. This book is meant for the Christian who wants to become a deeper, more REAL Christian, by abandoning lukewarm tendencies we seem to fall into as the newness/fire of being a Christian wears off. I don't like to give too much away in any book review I do, and today is no different. However, I will say that the thesis in Crazy Love is that the Lord wants us to be crazy-in-love with Him. Like the way I was crazy-in-love with Meredith and left my full-time job, sold my house, and moved to Arkansas for. THAT kind of love. Which I love. But which is quite hard. :) If this book is something you feel called to read, I totally recommend you to do so. But be prepared for painful sharpening. Talk to you soon, Dale
